Halfway reached in Super and first division leagues

The Cork Darts Orginisation Fosters sponsored Super league and the first division league resumes tonight with the second half of the round robin format, while Division 2 and the Junior league continue their leagues after the bank holiday break. In section 1 of the Super league, Hennessey’s travel to the Gallows, Rosies entertain the Maple leaf and the Joshua tree host the Local. In section 2, Top of the hill and Ma Dullea’s travel to Blackpool to play the Groves and Quinlans, while the Riverstown Inn have a bye.

The 1st Division will see Bakers street away to the Riverstown Inn, Aunties travel to Blarney street to face the Residence, Riverlane 2 team head to Hennessy’s in Mayfield and the Riverlane 1 have a bye.

In the 2nd division the Glenryan 2 have a spin to the Shamrock bar, Red cove are at home to the Glenryan 1, Joshua tree will play the Residence and the Local have a bye.

In the Junior league, Jack fords V Island Tavern, Gallows V Riverlane, Tower V Muskerry and Ma Dullea’s travel to Ballyvolane to play the Fox & Hounds.

In the Ladies Glenryan “A” Plate, the Joshua lost 3-2 to Horgan’s, Ma Dullea’s won 4-1 against the Residence and the Local were 3-2 winners away to the Friars walk tavern.

The Ma Dullea’s B league saw the Redcove travel to Glanmire to face the Widows and returned to Mahon after winning 5-0. Ma Dullea’s were victorious at home to the Glenryan 2 with a 3-2 result. The Glenryan 1 were at home to the Gallows, and it was all one way with the first 4 legs going to the Glenryan team. Alice Landy was 1st up for the Glenryan and got the first point for her team beating Pauline Costigan 2-0. Michelle Barry and Alison Goulding were also 2-0 winners beating Sinead Worboys and Mariah Bennett. The Gallows were hoping to get something out of the tie and it was looking good when Helen Lawton went 1 leg up against Mary O’Connor, but O’Connor quickly got her game on and won the next 2 legs. The final game saw Hannah Shinkwin for the Glenryan against Mary Tynan and it was Tynan that won that game and a point for the Widows.

The CDO charity night will be held at the Joshua Tree bar on Friday, November 22nd.  Entry fee is €10 and all proceeds will be donated to Cork City missing Persons Search & Recovery. This open competition is restricted to the first 48 names in, and entries will close once that number has been reached.
